The Power and Impact of The Other Georgia Vote

The Other Georgia Voter Power Campaign is an electoral power-building and civic education effort designed to turn early-voting participation into lasting civic engagement across Georgia.

The campaign is built around a simple idea: elections determine who holds office; organized people determine whether elected officials are held accountable to community priorities.

Through the “The Other Georgia Voter Power” voter card and our “My 8–10” organizing strategy, faith and community leaders will personally engage people they already know—family, friends, neighbors, coworkers, and congregation members. Each conversation connects three actions: Learn the Agenda. Vote Early. Get Organized.

Our goal extends beyond Election Day. We are using early voting to build relationships, deepen understanding of The Other Georgia Agenda, and create an informed, connected network prepared to remain engaged and hold elected leaders accountable to advancing policies that Black Families, Black Caretakers, and Black Children.

The Other Georgia Power Forums

The inaugural Voter Power experience launches through signature statewide activations.

October 22nd | Dublin, Georgia

October 25th | Columbus, Georgia

October 26th | Valdosta, Georgia

These multi-regional political forums are designed to connect communities around the state with candidates seeking office, educate them about the power and possibilities of voting, and make civic engagement more accessible and engaging.

Communities outside of Metro Atlanta are home to more than 1 million Black Georgians. Yet, half the registered voters in The Other Georgia participated in the last statewide election. While hundreds of thousands are eligible to help shape the future of their communities, too many remain disconnected from civic institutions that have historically excluded or overlooked them.

The challenge is not one of apathy.

It is the result of generations of voter suppression, racial discrimination, economic disinvestment, mass incarceration, misinformation, and the absence of sustained civic infrastructure intentionally designed for rural and non-metro Atlanta Blacks.

The Other Georgia exists to close that gap not through one-time voter outreach, but through post-election organizing that builds relationships, develops leadership, and creates pathways for governing power.

The Other Georgia First 100 Days Agenda presents ten concrete actions for the next governor to begin strengthening Black Families, Black Caretakers, and Black Children from the start of a new administration.

Our demands call for action to:

Advance Racial Equity & Economic Opportunity — make equity measurable, expand childcare, strengthen rural communities, grow Black business opportunities, and improve access to public benefits.
Protect Black Health & Well-Being — expand healthcare access and confront Georgia’s Black maternal health crisis.
Strengthen Justice, Reentry & Voting Access — improve reentry opportunities, reform criminal justice practices, and make access to the ballot a statewide priority.
Invest in Black Young People — create pathways connecting Georgia’s HBCU students and graduates to government, public service, and economic opportunity.

Our communities should not have to wait years for government to act. The first 100 days should demonstrate measurable progress toward a Georgia where Black communities have the resources, opportunities, access, and public investment necessary to thrive.

During and after the election, The Other Georgia participants engage in a variety of experiences designed to strengthen both individual leadership and collective action, including:

Community conversations
Peer-to-peer organizing
Town halls and public forums

Each opportunity reinforces the belief that civic leadership is not reserved for elected officials — it belongs to every individual willing to invest in the well-being of their community.
